Scientific Proof of Intuition
Studies have been done and prove that more times than not, intuition is more efficient to rely on than either logic or carefully thought out planning. With that in mind, you need to remember that intuition is hard to be described, However, it works because you use it very often in everyday life.
How To Polish It
Here are ten ways which will help you to polish your intuition. You can pick up one of them at the time or start working on more of them.
1. Trust Your Guts
Research suggests that emotion and intuition have a physical presence in our gut. The gut is lined with a network of neurons and we often call it ‘the second brain.’ It is also known as the enteric nervous system (ENS) containing about 100 million neurons, which is more than the spinal cord and peripheral nervous system but less than the brain. This is why you become ‘sick’ about having to make a tough decision or knowing you have made a bad one.
2. Feel Your Guts
Being able to feel, you will recognise your intuition, just let yourself do it. I can assure you of the following symptoms:
- feeling it in your belly,
- it will send a shiver down your spine,
- it will goosebump your skin,
- your heart will pound quicken’
- your breath speeds up,
- “knowing” that your intuition is there. It means that you will feel when something is right. This feeling is clear, nourishing and enriching. In the same way, you will feel when something is wrong– as n ache or a flattening.
Trusting your intuition might be difficult at first if you are not used to it so that give it time and trust it inch by inch if that feels better. It will be worth it.
3. Listen To Your Intuition
It sounds obvious. Your intuition can not talk to you if you are not listening. Just talk less and listen more. When you start to take notice, good things will happen. You will notice when your intuition is talking and make bigger use of it.
4. Be Ready To Let Bad Things Go
Negative emotions will cloud intuition. Therefore, when you are angry or depressed bad decisions can happen so easily. Research has proved that people made better intuitive choices in a word task when they were in a positive mood as compared to the people in a negative mood. So the solution is simple: transform negative thoughts and emotions to make the most of your intuition.
5. Cut Off Toxic People In Your Environment
People who drain you will definitely make it more difficult to hear what your intuition wants you to hear. However, your intuition will be trying to tell you who is friendly and who is an energetic vampire. Nourish relationships with people who enrich and empower you and cut off from those who drain you. Sometimes you cannot walk away from the troublesome ones and if it happens, stay in high vibrations and protect your aura. Make it your decision as the power stays with you unless you decide to give it to negative forces.
6. Pay Attention To Your Environment
It is true that the more information you are able to gather from the environment, the more the intuitive, subconscious part of your brain has to work with. It also means that you will be more accurate in your decisions. So pay as much attention to your environment as possible, instead of ruminating and worrying.
7. Find Time For Silence And Stillness
Staying in silence and stillness will help you to listen to your intuition. Solitude is also good as it turns down the clamour of the world so that you can tune in your guts. Busy and loud environment drowns them. Therefore, let your mind wander. Stay open to what comes to your feelings, thoughts or words.
8. Use Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a perfect tool to live in the present, which also means listening to and sharpening your intuition. So focus your thoughts on your own experience in the present moment, and then mindfulness gets shot of mental clutter and makes way for you to connect with your intuition.
9. Connect With Other Beings
And I do not only mean people here. Connect to animals, e.g. cats, dogs, horses, dolphins. In the future, you will also be able to connect to other civilisations. Use empathy, adjust your way of speaking to theirs (e.g. you can imitate meowing or sneaking). Do the same with body language, which is so important in communication between people. Being able to pick on the signals of others will all add to intuition.
10. Work On Your Dreams
Dreams are the brain’s way of processing information that remains from the day. Notice that they are rich with valuable data, i.e. experiences, memories, learnings. These things can work hard if we let them. When you pay attention to dreams, they can provide information that you may not have access due when we are awake. Therefore, before you fall asleep, turn your thoughts to any unresolved issues or problems. Do not forget to think about possible options or resolutions as you are falling asleep. Then close your eyes and let your brain do the rest.
